Finding us by car
Travelling North:
From M6 junction 40 take the 3rd exit for Penrith. Go straight across a mini roundabout with Cranstons on left. Drive past B&Q, Aldi and the railway station on left. Bear left at next mini roundabout uphill for 100 yds to next mini roundabout. Go straight across, look for WCF store on left and Morrisons on right. Straight on downhill into town. At bottom of hill bear left and keep right on this one-way road which doubles back towards town. Take 1st left into Portland Place Street. At the mini roundabout, go straight on to Wordsworth Street and drive up almost to the end of the road. North View B&B is on your right. You can park by the B&B, free of charge. SAT NAV: CA11 7QY
Travelling South:
From M6 turn off at Junction 41and at the roundabout, take second exit signposted Penrith. Drive for 1 mile to a second roundabout and take 5th exit to Penrith. As you approach Penrith, there is a ’30’ mile sign. Take the first road on left signposted Langwathby, Alston. Drive up hill and at the mini roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Beacon edge. Wordsworth street is the second on the right. North View B&B is just 50 meters down on the left. You can park by the B&B, free of charge. SAT NAV: CA11 7QY
Finding us by train
As you exit the station, take a left and walk to the mini roundabout and take a left. Cross the road and walk to the next roundabout. Walk straight across and stay on the right-hand side pavement. Morrison supermarket will be on your right and Booths on your left. Walk down Brunswick Road to the traffic light. Cross Middlegate street, pass Villa Bianca restaurant on your right and walk pass Corney Square and Penrith Town Hall (a beautiful grade II listed building). Take a right on Portland Place, go straight on the mini roundabout and up Wordsworth Street. North View B&B is almost at the top on the right-hand side.
Please note: Penrith is not flat, and we recommend taking a taxi if you have big/heavy luggage and/or have mobility issues.
Finding us by bike
Whether you are cycling the Coast-to-Coast route or the Land’s End to John O’Groat, Penrith is on the route. We have a garage for your bike and a dry room if need be.
