Right here in Cumbria in April!

Did you know that the world-famous Marmalade Awards take place just a few miles from North View B&B? Each April, the beautiful Dalemain Mansion hosts this much-loved event, celebrating the very best in marmalade making.

We’re proud to say that we’ve entered the competition for the past two years and have been awarded a Silver Award — and yes, our guests get to taste it! It invariably sparks lovely conversations over breakfast about home cooking, jam making, and the exchanging of favourite recipes.

This is no small competition. The World Marmalade Awards attract entries from across the globe, with jars arriving from as far afield as Japan, Australia, Canada, and the USA.

The competition began 20 years ago, when the lady of Dalemain Mansion had the inspired idea of creating a marmalade festival. All proceeds go to the wonderful charity Hospice at Home, and to date, more than £370,000 has been raised — truly something special.
